Dear Readers,

If you are on holiday and reading these lines, all I can say is that I envy you! You have avoided the first rainy days and beginning of autumn, and in the peace September vacation are waiting for the crazy summer season to end. For the other ones, among whom I find myself, who hardly waited for the summer to start, summer holidays ended with an emergency landing to work places or school desks. “It’s like it never happened.“- summer holidays are described by most tanned work returners. Although “batteries are recharged”, there is little energy and enthusiasm for everyday tasks. For many, this period marks the beginning of a new budget or school year, which makes the obligations and stress that comes with them, look like an impregnable wall. This condition is called “summer depression”, so doctors recommend ending the holiday a few days early, thus gradually adjusting to work and catching pace.

With all due respect to the scientific community and the diagnosis, for most of us this just means that we had a good time during holidays that had to end making us feel a little sorry. Doctor, it takes a year waiting for the summer to come and we cannot shorten our holidays! And gradual catching pace and adaptation are as possible as slowly and cautiously entering the train which without stopping dashes through the station. Rare are the ones who can influence and determine their own pace and dynamics of life.

All this being said, here are some not so new tips, but still helpful:

Deal with your holiday photos and videos as soon as possible (as someone has to!). Collect them, archive, and watch them in the company of dear friends, remembering details and interesting anecdotes from your trip. I guarantee you’ll have a great time and a breeze of summer wind in your back.

Start planning a new trip. Make autumn city break - a few days in a European metropolis (or grandmother’s place in the countryside) your next goal and enjoy the preparations. Detailed information and plans will save you time and money, so use the internet offers and discounts for booking hotels and airline tickets, car rental, or tickets for tourist attractions...

The pages before you bring a handful of diverse and exciting ideas for this fall: Berlin, Toulouse, Madagascar, Hiroshima ..... a difficult choice, you’ll have to admit.

Until the December issue,
